Research & Frameworks
The architecture
behind the conversation.
Shepherd isn't a chatbot reading Wikipedia. It's a structured framework — four pillars, a curated canon, a library of modern situations, and a strict set of boundaries about when to step back.
The Four Pillars
Psalms · Ephesians · James
Stress & Anger
When the body is on fire and the mind moves faster than the room.
Proverbs · Ecclesiastes · 1 Kings
Difficult Decisions
Two paths, both costly. The cost of each named, not picked for you.
Psalms · Isaiah · Habakkuk
Clarity in Uncertainty
The future is fog. A lamp for the next step, not a map of the road.
Lamentations · Romans · Philippians
Emotional Balance
The highs and the lows are equally exhausting. Equanimity is trained.
The Source Material
Shepherd's canon spans the wisdom literature, the gospels, the epistles, and the prophets. We work primarily from scholarly modern translations and apply the principle that scripture is dense, contextual, and not a slogan factory.
Every guidance Shepherd offers is traceable to a passage. If a passage is misapplied or context is missing, that's a bug we want to hear about.
The Scenarios Library
We map 1,200 modern workplace and life situations onto the four pillars. A sample of the curated library is below — the rest is woven into Shepherd's responses.
